Launch Day

2006-02-04

Celebrations are taking place around the globe today in honour of an event some have labelled as a purely British eccentricity.

Well, we showed them.

In Edinburgh (Scotland), Newcastle (England), Philadelphia (USA), and Paris (France) there are small excited assemblies of people logging-on, reading-up, pigging-out and getting-down in celebration of all of the developments 5 years of campaigning has brought to our small but dedicated band of lobbyists.

Today the word is being spread around the world to help bring many more individuals to our rallying cry.

The site was formally launched by Commissioner Gorden, Leader of the Zonino Commission and Comissioner Grogan, Commissioner for Spreadage Growth, on 4th February 2006 at Midnight GMT with a presentation in the Commission's St. Leonard's Chambers, attended by elected members, commission staff, representatives of the community and partner organisations.

A Call to Action

The Oxford English Dictionary has always been our ultimate goal.

Now they have teamed up with the BBC to talk about old words, but, much more importantly, to search for new words! (Zonino!)

Tell them about the only word the dictionary needs!
